Our city is at a crossroads. Throughout every neighborhood, families are struggling to afford the basics — housing, childcare, and education — while our students face an uncertain future. 

As your neighbor, educator, and advocate, I, Dr. Darling J. Miramey, am running for office to fight not only for affordability but for our children’s right to a quality education that truly prepares them for the future.  Recent citywide education reports show that: 

Only fewer than 50% of our fourth graders are meeting math proficiency standards.

Behind those numbers are real children — students who are bright, creative, and full of potential but are being left behind by systems that haven’t invested in them. We must do better.

Ensuring working families can afford to live and thrive in our city through housing support, child care investment, and fair wages.

Education and Equity
Expanding access to quality instruction, bilingual programs, and resources that empower teachers and lift every student.

Community Investment
Protecting public services and ensuring our tax dollars fund local priorities that serve our neighborhoods and the next generation.

This campaign is not just about one candidate — it’s about all of us. I’m calling on parents and teachers, students and young people, workers and small business owners, artists and designers, managers and administrators, health professionals and caregivers, retirees and lifelong residents, and every community member who cares about the future to join me. Together, we can create a city where families can afford to stay, where students learn and succeed, and where our communities have the resources they deserve.
